Imagined Imagines Editions is a small publisher based in Edinburgh, Scotland, specialising in photography books. Our principal aim is to bring the work of less well-known photographers to a wider audience through publishing their work. For photographers who do not wish to be involved in the design and other mechanics of producing a book, we can offer a complete design service, including all layout and typesetting.

However, we cannot accept unsolicited proposals for books and other publications; being a small operation we simply do not have the resources to evaluate and respond to unsolicited proposals, nor do we have the resources to be engaged in more than one project at any one time.

Instead our role is rather more like that of a commissioning editor who initiates new projects for publication. As such, we are always on the look-out for interesting photography and we would welcome e-mails telling us about various photography projects, exhibitions etc., particularly from locally-based photographers. On the other hand, as a general rule, we do not normally publish photography which is "conventionally beautiful", for want of a better description - we are more interested in work which goes against the grain of convention, aesthetic, social or otherwise.
